I Hate Dancers. Wait, What?!

Wow, dude. You hate your own kind?! You racist...

Keanu whoa... Before you go off on me, let me explain myself... I hate dancers WHO talk a lot of smack.

Yes, all over the interwebs you can find videos of people showing off their dancing skills (or lack of :/). See, me; if I have something to say about these videos other than how good it was, I either leave constructive criticism in the comments or don't say anything at all (and silently laugh to myself). On the other side, you have people (presumably fellow dancers) who will comment on these videos saying things like "that sucks!", "that's not dancing!", or "never dance ever again!". Seriously...what the crap is up with this? If you are truly a dancer, no one should ever see this kind of attitude come out of you. True dancers should be on a never ending journey to not only physically challenge themselves through the world of movement, but to also inspire, be inspired, and support. That's right; SUPPORT! If someone is not dancing the way you want them to, "don't get mad, get glad" (pun intended). Whether you're an instructor or just a plain old audience member, anger and bashing are no way to respond to a fellow dancer.

Now, I know what you're thinking. You, my friends are thinking two things!: 1. Why not just speak your mind instead of being fake? 2. What about those judges we all know and love? Are they not mean?
First of all, there is a big, Big, BIG difference between speaking your mind and being a word for "donkey". I can speak my mind without bashing. It's not hard to eliminate negative feelings from your system. Just clear your mind and speak intelligently. Remember: yelling is not always needed. Just because I speak calmly to you doesn't mean I'm pretending to like you. I can say "this is war" without a punch in the face.
Second of all, the famous judges from So You Think You Can Dance are always professional and never mean or rude. When a not-so-dancer comes to audition, I have seen them say something along the lines of "we admire that you love to dance, but you are not right for this show". YOU SEE! Just because you can't make it on SYTYCD doesn't mean you don't go it!
Yeah..keep telling yourself that, buddy.

If you have ever been told that your dancing sucks, don't fret. If you haven't figured it out already, when people shut us down, it only encourages us to rise up. To quote John Locke from Lost: "Don't tell me what I can't do!" Ha!

And to all you smack talking dancers; Shame on you... You may think that you are God's gift to man, but it's really your talent that's the gift, and you spoil it once your ego gets too large.

Remember: Dancers are the artists of God. Negativity doesn't become you.

Shine on you crazy diamonds
